post-coffee-with-friend stroll

Cedar Center is divided by Cedar Road—and a city line. Cedar Center North is located in South Euclid and Cedar Center South is in University Heights, anchored by Whole Foods on the corner of Cedar and Warrensville Center Roads. The shopping center on the north side of the street—a sort of 1950s straight and narrow strip of storefronts, with some mom and pop shops and some one of a kind local restaurants (including one of my favorites, which, luckily, relocated)—was demolished in 2009 with big plans for a new development incorporating housing and retail. South Euclid had bought the 12-acre property from 12 owners for $16.4 million in 2007. But the economy did not cooperate… However, it is bustling again, with many chain stores and restaurants like Bob Evans and Chipotle.
Modern and sleek? Disjointed? Pedestrian-friendly? Auto-centric? Just glad there’s a Panera closer to home or a Starbucks on the way to work?
